Yonkers is the fourth largest city in New York State. It is located just north of the heart of Manhattan, among the suburbs and river towns of Westchester County and the Hudson Valley. The Metro North Railroad, which is located within walking distance from the hospital, makes traveling to New York City very convenient. Our coveted location gives residents unparalleled access to a wide variety of living options and different communities, all of which are a comfortable commute to and from the hospital. Many of our residents opt to enjoy a fast-paced Manhattan lifestyle, with a quick and easy commute direct from New York City, while others choose to live in Yonkers or throughout the various suburban neighborhoods of Westchester County. Yonkers contains landmarks that include the thriving downtown of Yonkers Waterfront, the historic 43 acres of Persian Gardens in Untermyer Park, lavish shopping at Ridge Hill, and incredible water-front dining. There are many activities in Yonkers itself, but the beauty of this city truly lies within its location. While the Big Apple needs no introduction, just north of Yonkers you can also find nearby gems like White Plains, Rye, Scarsdale and Sleepy Hollow. Westchester County is loaded with outdoor activities and iconic landmarks such as the Capitol Theatre, Tarrytown Music Hall, Rye Playland, the Kensico Dam, Bear Mountain along with numerous parks, golf courses, beaches, harbors, orchards, shopping malls, bars, restaurants and fine dining options.
Residency is a difficult journey that can be very demanding, and we in the residency leadership value the importance of maintaining a healthy balance of work and wellness. Whether it be camping and rock climbing or brunch and hailing taxi cabs that speaks to you, we support and encourage all of our residents to take advantage of such wonderful opportunities and to enjoy everything that New York City, Westchester County and Yonkers has to offer.

National Geographic Traveler named the Hudson Valley one of the top 20 must-see destinations in the world – and with good reason! Between beautiful hikes, winding roads, apple picking, parks, and an expansive food and farmer’s market scene, the Hudson Valley speaks for itself. We are lucky enough to have this vibrant getaway just north of the hospital, and we are more than happy to take advantage of it! See our residents enjoying the Hudson Valley below.

Our program is a quick train ride via the Metro-North to Grand Central Terminal. Our close approximation to the city allows our residents to enjoy all NYC has to offer. We have many residents who live in the city (Harlem, Midtown, UWS) and commute to work. Many socials and journal clubs have been held in the city.
