Clinical Sites
St. John’s Riverside Hospital is our primary training site, located in Yonkers, a city with a population of approximately 200,000. This 150 bed hospital is equipped to serve high acuity patients and evaluates a large variety of pathology. St. John’s serves as a Primary Stroke Center and offers 24-hour pediatric emergency care. Equipped with state of the art technology and robust critical care capabilities, the Emergency Department, which is also set to expand in 2024, currently includes dedicated resuscitation areas, as well as an advanced triage and fast track area. All faculty are board certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine and have a variety of academic interests and diverse subspecialty training.
ParkCare Pavilion: ParkCare pavilion is part of the St. John’s Riverside 3 campus hospital system. It is a busy behavioral health and addiction medicine treatment center with both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation and detox facilities. Because of its close proximity to our main site, the Emergency Department evaluates a large volume of patients affiliated with ParkCare, who suffer from various substance use disorders, and often present requiring treatment for various overdose and withdrawal syndromes.
St. John’s Riverside Hospital: Dobbs Ferry Pavilion is an extremely unique, 7 bed community ED situated in the middle of suburbia, that sees 8,000 patients annually. It is located in Dobbs Ferry, NY and although it is just 10 minutes away from our main site, it provides an entirely different feel and clinical experience. Residents are offered the opportunity to rotate through this tiny community hospital with access to limited resources. They will work one-on-one with the ED attending as the sole providers in the building and are responsible for managing all codes and rapid responses throughout the hospital.
Jacobi Medical Center is a large urban Level 1 Trauma Center located in Bronx, NY. Our residents complete two 4 week blocks of trauma at this busy, underserved, low socio-economic hospital. This center sees a wide range of penetrating and blunt trauma in both adult and pediatric populations. The Adult ED sees over 100,000 patients annually.
Mt. Sinai Elmurst Medical Center is a major Level I Trauma center and a main source of care for a diverse immigrant community in Queens, NY. The ED sees about 130,000 patients per year including high volumes of both blunt and penetrating trauma. During their third year, our residents complete 4 weeks of Trauma at this institution.
